Insights
Insights bring your migration data to life with dashboards, reports and exports. Use these tools to understand your digital estate, identify quick wins, track planning decisions and communicate progress to stakeholders. Reports can be viewed interactively online or downloaded for offline analysis and presentation.
Accessing Insights
To access the Insights page, click the Insights button in the left-hand navigation sidebar. This will take you to the main Insights dashboard where you can access all reports and export functionality.
Report Types
Reports & Dashboards
The Reports & Dashboards tab provides access to interactive reports and downloadable presentations that give you insights into your migration assessment.
Before downloading or viewing reports, make sure to refresh the data if you’ve made significant planning updates. This ensures the reports reflect the latest changes.
Last Updated: Shows when your data was last refreshed
A refresh button is available to update your data and ensure reports reflect the most current information.
Baseline Findings
Automatically generated insights based on your initial scan. Use these to quickly understand your environment and set direction before planning.
Planning-Driven Insights
These insights evolve as you move through the Dr Migrate workflow, reflecting your planning inputs across apps, infrastructure, and modernization.
Report Access Methods
Power BI Reports
The interactive reports are published to Power BI and embedded in the Dr Migrate web server.
Locate Reports Section
Navigate to the Reports & Dashboards tab in the Insights section
View Report
Click “→ See report” on the report you wish to view
Access Report
The report will open in a new tab with full interactive capabilities
PowerPoint Reports
Generate downloadable PowerPoint reports for offline viewing and sharing.
Locate Reports Section
Navigate to the Reports & Dashboards tab
Generate Report
Find the report you would like a PowerPoint for and click the “Generate” button
Wait for Generation
Reports typically take 1 to 15 minutes to generate
Download Report
Once the report is generated, your download link will become available. Click ‘Copy URL to Clipboard’ and paste the link in a new browser window to download the report
Additional Reports
The Additional Reports tab provides access to detailed data exports in Excel format for comprehensive analysis and reporting.
How to Export Reports
Export Process:
- Click on the “Generate” button to create a new report. Depending on the report type, it may take between 1-15 minutes.
- Once the report is generated, your download link will become available. Click the clipboard icon and paste the secure link into your local desktop’s browser to download to your local machine.

File Management
The File Management section allows you to upload files to Dr Migrate storage and download files from the storage account to your local machine.
Access File Management
File Management can be found in the left navigation menu under the Export section.
Upload File to Dr Migrate Storage
- Navigate to the File Management section
- Click the “Upload from DRM VM to Storage Account” tab
- Click the Upload file icon
- Search for the file you wish to upload
- Click submit to upload the file to the storage account
Download from Dr Migrate Storage
- Navigate to the File Management section
- Click the “Download to DRM VM” tab
- Your Dr Migrate files can be downloaded here
- Use the copy icon to save files to your desktop
Data Export Options
Power BI Export Capabilities
Dr Migrate utilizes Power BI to display its reports. As such, some elements from Power BI reports can be exported.
