Throughout Dr Migrate you’ll find AI Assistants designed to accelerate and simplify key tasks. Each assistant analyses your data and migration goals to provide a starting point—saving you time while keeping you in control. After running an assistant you can review and adjust its recommendations.

| Migration Goals Assistant | Recommends the most suitable migration pathway (light modernization, modernization focused, or migrate as-is) based on user-defined goals, providing clear guardrails for planning. |
| Modernization Targets Assistant | Suggests Azure alternatives for detected technologies based on migration pathways, offering best practices for modernization. |
| 6R Assistant | Provides tailored 6R recommendations by combining migration pathways, modernization preferences, and business context to align technical and strategic goals. |
| Application Sizing Assistant | Analyzes infrastructure and servers to determine migration complexity (e.g., simple, medium, large), guiding effort estimation. |

When to Use Each Assistant
- CMDB Assistant – Use at the start of inventory mapping to quickly identify potential COTS applications and speed up application discovery. Ideal before or alongside bulk uploads.
- Migration Goals Assistant – Run after defining high‑level objectives to have the system recommend an overall pathway (migrate as‑is, light modernisation or modernisation focused) based on your stated goals.
- Modernisation Targets Assistant – Apply once you’ve selected a pathway; it suggests Azure services for detected technologies in line with your modernisation level.
- 6R Assistant – Generate baseline 6R treatments for each application after setting goals and modernisation targets. Combine business context with technical analysis.
- Application Sizing Assistant – Run when you need to estimate migration effort and complexity; it sizes each application using infrastructure and workload characteristics.
- Wave Planning Assistant – Use after treatments and sizing are set; it automatically groups applications into waves based on dependencies and complexity.
