Choose your scan
These are the two scan types you’ll see when you launch DMC. Each page below lists everything you must set up for that scan — nothing optional, nothing extra.

Build a complete view of your AWS estate — all services, accounts, regions, and cost data — using native AWS APIs. No server credentials required.
Not sure which to pick?
Use EC2 Scan when you need deep detail about your servers — installed software, dependencies between servers, and right-sizing data for migration planning.
Use AWS Estate Discovery when you need a full inventory of every AWS service and your cost profile, without touching the servers themselves.
If you want both, set up each scan in turn — they’re independent and can run from the same collector host.
